Residential roofing
Sloped Roofing
Architectural shingles, slate, and standing seam, engineered for Canadian winters.
The Service
Why Sloped Roofing matters for your home or building.
Sloped roofing is the most common residential roofing system in Hamilton and across the GTA West. Gateway installs three product lines under this category: asphalt architectural shingles from GAF, synthetic stone-coated and rubberised slate from EuroShield, and metal standing-seam systems from Wiseline.
Each line carries its own manufacturer warranty and engineering profile, so the right system for your home depends on roof pitch, expected service life, aesthetic preference, and budget. Our quoting process walks you through trade-offs in plain language and recommends the configuration that fits your project, not the one with the best margin for us.
All sloped roof installs include underlayment, ice and water shield in code-required zones, ridge ventilation, and matching flashing. We dispose of tear-off material the same day, perform a magnetic nail sweep around the property before leaving, and register your manufacturer warranty on your behalf.

Frequently Asked
Answers to the questions we get most.
Don't see your question here? Send it through the quote form, we usually respond within a business day.
Most single-family homes in Hamilton take one to three working days. Larger or steeper roofs, or jobs requiring deck repair, can extend to four or five. We give you a firm timeline with the written quote.
We almost always recommend full tear-off. Ontario Building Code permits a single overlay, but tear-off lets us inspect the deck, address any rot, and start the warranty clock from a clean surface.
Manufacturer warranties vary by product line, GAF Timberline HDZ, EuroShield slate, and Wiseline standing seam each carry distinct coverage terms. We pair the manufacturer warranty with our own workmanship warranty.
Late spring through early fall offers the most predictable weather, but we install year-round. Asphalt shingle adhesion improves with warmth, but properly hand-sealed shingles work fine in winter when the right products are used.
If your existing roof was damaged by a covered peril (e.g. hail, wind, fallen tree), your policy may cover replacement. We can document damage and supply a written scope for your adjuster.
